The Woods Gap Oceanographic Establishment, the College of Connecticut and the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences own signed a license agreement for a kelp “germplasm.”
The innovation is a series of minute kelp cells containing greater than 1,200 samples isolated and collated by the UConn and WHOI groups. The license agreement will allow Bigelow Laboratory’s Nationwide Middle for Marine Algae and Microbiota to market and distribute the series for diversified applications.
