The US Nationwide Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has launched the recipients of the 2021 Marine Debris Prevention and Elimination Grant awards.
The awards — to 25 recipients — entire approximately US$7.3 million (~€6.2 million) in federal funds.
Non-federal contributions matched that money, bringing the total quantity of those marine particles projects to approximately $14.7 million (~€12.4 million), per NOAA:
“The Marine Debris Program offers nationwide competitive funding opportunities for projects that enhance ecological sources thru researching and disposing of marine particles.
