The US Nationwide Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has launched the recipients of the 2021 Marine Debris Prevention and Elimination Grant awards.
The awards — to 25 recipients — entire approximately US$7.3 million (~€6.2 million) in federal funds.
Non-federal contributions matched that money, bringing the total quantity of those marine particles projects to approximately $14.7 million (~€12.4 million), per NOAA:
“The Marine Debris Program offers nationwide competitive funding opportunities for projects that enhance ecological sources thru researching and disposing of marine particles. This three hundred and sixty five days, the Marine Debris Program also supplied funding for projects that stop and gain away marine particles in Mexico and the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada border areas.
