AIDA 2022 Pool World Championship Day 4: France’s Guillaume Bourdila Sets New World Record

French athlete Guillaume Bourdila place a unique AIDA World Document in the Dynamic With Monofin (DYN) discipline on the final day of the AIDA Pool Freediving World Championship in Burgas, Bulgaria.

Bourdila swam 301m/987.53ft which in addition to to the enviornment file earned him a gold medal. The outdated AIDA DYN World Document — 300m/984ft — used to be place by Poland’s Mateusz Malina and Greece’s Giorgos Panagiotakis  in 2016 and remained unbreakable for six years.

As for the ladies, the discontinue two contenders were Polish athletes Magdalena Solich-Talanda and Julia Kozerska.

Solich-Talanda, the unique World Document holder in the discipline, brought home the gold with a 265m/869ft swim. Kozerska took the silver with a 260m/853ft swim. The bronze medal went to Japan’s Yasuko Ozeki with a swim of 214m/702ft.

The final competition day ended with a ceremony for the overall winners in the four disciplines. The Natalia Molchanova Awards got to overall men’s winner Karol Karcz and overall ladies’s winner Magdalena Solich-Talanda.
