The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has launched the open of a “account diagram” as an instance the implications of vessel noise on marine plant life and fauna inside of sanctuaries.
The diagram is section of the SanctSound project. The four-one year project is designed to bolster our working out of the underwater soundscape inside of national marine sanctuaries.
SanctSound runs from 2018 to the spring of 2022 and is managed by the US Navy and NOAA. The project undertakes monitoring activities in seven national marine sanctuaries and one marine national monument, in conjunction with:
